Sails of Glory: Hamadryad 1797/HMS Mahonesa 1796

The Mahonesa class was a class of Spanish 5th-rate frigates, armed with 34 cannons and part of the "Armada Real". Often considered the best frigates in the Spanish Navy, they had a designed crew of around 280, and were armed with 26 12-Pounder guns in the lower deck and 8 6-Pounder guns in the upperdeck.

The HMS Hamadryad, before her capture, was named "Ninfa" - a 36-gun Spanish frigate built at Mahon, on the island of Minorca. After her capture, Ninfa was taken to Gibraltar where she was commissioned under Thomas Elphinstone as HMS Hamadryad. After capturing two privateers, her career as an English ship was a short one, as she sank whilst trying to shelter from a storm in Algiers Bay, on 25 December 1797.

The ship base, ship card and ship log are printed on two sides - the game data of a second ship is printed on the
back. This ship pack can also be used to represent the British Mahonesa class frigate "HMS Mahonesa 1796".

Designed to be used with the tactical ship-to-ship game system created by Andrea Angiolino and Andrea Mainini, each Sails of Glory® Ship Pack is a ready-to-play model, painted and assembled, 100% compatible with any other Sails of Glory game product.

In each pack you will find all you need to play the ship: a special base with gaming stats, a ship log and, a specific deck of maneuver cards.
