– Why Buy Army Builder? –
Every gamer has his own style, and army construction is often a very individual
process. What a gamer looks for in a tool like Army Builder largely depends
on the way he plays the game. Novices will value distinctly different features
from the veteran player. No matter what your level of expertise, Army Builder
will give you more time to paint and play!
If You're a New Player...
Army Builder is a great tool if you're just starting to play miniatures games,
automating a large portion of the bookkeeping that can be confusing when building
your first few armies:
- All available troops are displayed with appropriate equipment and options,
so you don't have to wade through charts and lists.
- Point costs and army construction rules are automatically tracked for
troops, equipment, special gear, etc. You can leave the math to Army Builder
and focus on the game.
- Automatic rules validation warns you when a rule has been broken or an
error has been made. Correction is usually as simple as a few clicks of the
mouse.
- Printed rosters provide an excellent game-time reference, minimizing the
need to look up information rule books during the game.
- Having complete information for all armies at your fingertips means players
can study up on the other armies that they will face before the games, minimizing
surprises.
If You're a Veteran Player...
Veterans know their way around the games better than anyone, but you can still
use the time-saving tools in Army Builder to help you get the most out of
your armies:
- Experiment with new armies and strategies in a fraction of the time it
would take with pen and paper.
Prepare for league or tournament play by using Army Builder's extensive tools
to maximize offensive and defensive strengths of your forces.
- Army Builder's complete rules validation ensures that everyone at the
table is playing with a legal army. Eliminate suspicion that an army list
is invalid.
- Army Builder's printed rosters keep every detail at your fingertips, for
easy reference at any point during play. Never again forget to apply a crucial
modifier in the heat of battle.
- For pick-up games, you can create, save, and print rosters for any occasion
- including games with special scenario rules - all in a matter of minutes.
If You're a Casual Player...
Casual players typically play like veterans but don't have every details memorized.
As such, Army Builder offers significant benefits:
- Every detail is at your fingertips, even the ones that would typically
have you scrambling for the rulebooks.
Army Builder's roster printouts guarantee that you have all the information
you need during play, so nothing is forgotten.
- For casual players, every minute at the game table is precious, and Army
Builder's time-saving features ensure that you spend more time playing and
less time preparing.
- Pick-up games and house rules are common among casual players. Army Builder
makes it easy to build impromptu rosters for games with special rules.
The list of game systems supported by Army Builder is extremely long, including
virtually all of the major game systems currently in print. Data files for
dozens of games systems have already been developed, and more are in the works.
Offered below is a list of the game systems for which Army Builder data are
available as of the latest update to this webpage. Beneath that is a second
list that identifies dozens of additional game systems that Army Builder can
support, although data files have not yet been created for these games. Many
of the games in the second list are now out-of-print and/or hard to find, but
they are still played by a variety of miniatures players and are included in
case it's a game system you are looking for.
Please Note! Army Builder is a designed as a companion product to these various
games. It does not replace the need for any standard component of the games.
Army Builder is designed to facilitate game preparation by speeding up the
process of constructing an army and providing printouts of information for
use during game play. You will still need all of the usual materials to play
the game, although Army Builder should allow you to spend more time playing,
less time preparing, and less time sifting through the books during game play.
