I bought this one when it came out and it has hit the table every time we get together as a board gaming group. It is totally awesome. The mechanics are such that you can get a different game every time you play. Every faction has multiple paths to victory so the replay-ability is very very high.

All in all, if you are looking for a solid game in the 60-90 minute range then I would suggest picking it up :)

Jestor, how are the rules written? Let me reword that, can a norm play. If I were to sit down and play this game with people that are not involved in this "hobby" or play baord games much, would they get the rules?
I want to pick up this game but I really need a game that I can play with normal people. No insult to the fine people on these forums :)

Honestly, if they can play any other board game they can play this one. The rules are very simplistic. To explain it a couple weekends ago to a guy who never played this board game took 5 minutes. To explain it to someone who has never board gamed took about 15-20 since there were other concepts we had to throw in.

This game is very much like a chess-checkers example where you can teach people easily but it has a TON of depth.

Thank you Jester, I will act on your advice. I just bought Chaos Marauders, also by FFG. It was an old GW game that they have bought back.
So this weekend I will play CM and next I will get Old World.

I enjoyed this game as well. I have not found a ton of games built to really max out at 4 players. This game is really enjoyable at 4 players (you can do 3 players as well, but honestly I wouldnt play this game 3 players)

The 4 factions in this game all are fairly amazing at what they do. As already mentioned, the game is fun and easy to learn, but it does have some good depth to the tactics.

The game can only go about 7 turns before the random event deck is used up. One thing I liked, is even though there are only 7 turns to the game there are a lot of random event cards, so each game will have a big change in events.

I"ve never seen a game go more then 5 or 6 turns before a player wins anyway (if the random event deck has no cards left in it, all the players lose) With as many powers as each player has, I cannot image the game ever NOT being one by a player.

Just an FYI. Make sure you get the FAQ off FFG's site. The wording on the cards for wheel advancement are different than the wording in the book. Getting that FAQ really helps.

We love this game. Once we got the FAQ changes, the game is always close and very challenging without taking millions of years.

The Games one problem is that you really need 4 players,3 is do-able
but it sucks at 2 & basically is imposible solo.

Great game when you have 4 players.
