So Privateer Press, in their supreme awesomeness, released the core rules and unit rules for Mark II yesterday on their web page.
Personally, I think it's a good idea, because I know my local players were at just about breaking point in waiting for MKII.
Of course, there will be grumblings and moanings about rules and unit changes (Rengrave lost Cabin Boy, wtf?!?) but it'll give people something to chew over for the next couple of months till the book is released.
Rah rah!

Indeed - the next few months should be a blast for the non-hordes players, heh. I'm afraid for the future though when I consider how mangled the game may be after we see the tier structures for all the casters (I assume in the Faction books). Some of the Retribution ones are fairly ridiculous.

Aye, some of them are rather silly, but they're also very restricted. Basically, it's a themed 'One Trick Pony', and once you know how to deal with it, they won't be too much of an issue.
I'm very curious to see the themed lists in the Forces Of books.

I love the idea of the themed lists… As affective or ineffective as they may be. Come November it will be hard for me to resist having a full line of dudes with big glowing mittens :D

I like the idea of themed lists as well - I just have issues with how well some of them are thought out. Rayvn's specifically.
Theme lists should let you do cool stuff and give small advantages for giving up options. They shouldn't pre-build a tourney level list for you with EXTREMELY GOOD advantages (FA: U on the strike force UA? really?)
Hyperbole aside, I'm honestly not sure how you deal with that many phantom seeker shots, with boosted to hit rolls, that ignore everything except elevation and stealth (including def/arm buffs and focus). A rather large swath of the casters out there just have to run away and hope their army can kill enough mage hunters to limit the threat for when the feat turn comes.

I agree with DS I can't wait to see what kind of theme list's they come up with, more so for the Mercs. Should prove to be interesting.

Looks like Cygnar is the first book up to bat… So you won’t have to wait long :D

I'm looking forward to the themed lists as well. As far as Ravyn's it doesn't take many AoEs to thin down the Mage Hunters and my Protectorate still has those aplenty. Now finding the best trick to deal with it using my upcoming Cygnar force should be interesting.

I am a huge fan of how it is going. My gaming group has been playing it alot now, and we cant wait for November 24th for the Hordes Field Test.
And its even better with the new re-sculpts too. :D
