Beyond the Gates of Antares is Warlord Games Science Fiction tabletop miniatures wargame written by 40K author Rick Priestly.  Beyond the Gates of Antares allows you to fully explore the setting of the game with futuristic tech and vehicles along with drones and beasts of all sizes!

During a turn Order Dice are drawn to decide which player can move or shoot with one of their units. That player chooses which unit to use and then another dice is drawn.  This means you can never be entirely sure how events will unfold on the battlefield.  While most units such as infantry and weapon teams have a single order dice, particularly large vehicles and beasts may have two or more dice, allowing them to act more than once per turn.

When units are given orders they can advance and fire, run or even prepare an ambush. The targeted enemy units may be able to react by starting a firefight, diving into cover or setting an ambush of their own!

Many units are accompanied into battle by hovering buddy drones to assist in targeting the enemy, deflecting incoming fire or carrying compacted equipment. Larger independent drones carry heavy weapons, while probes roam the battlefield to identify targets, working in isolation but connected into a shard.  The military forces of Antares are primarily armed with energy-based plasma weapons and projectile-firing mag weapons, while heavy weapons have access to a variety of special munition types. Ghar also utilise disruptor weaponry which is highly effective against the nano-based armour, drones and probes of other races.

The rulebook includes a series of matched scenarios – head-to-head missions that require little preparation. These are followed by narrative scenarios which take you further into the background of Antares with battles involving the search for Builder technology or a fight to recover rogue reconnaissance drones.
